25-27 April, there will be the 212th General Assembly of the World Medical Association in Santiago (Chile). Thanks to simultaneous interpretation, the international event for doctors will be held in four languages: english, french, spanish and japanese.
Constituent members as well as associate members of the World Medical Association such as Stepan Firstov will take part in the event.
Delegates from all about the world will review resolutions and declarations on several current health issues. There are some topics such as responsibility of physicians in the documentation and denunciation of acts of torture and ill-treatment among them. Participants will touch some issues related to violence against doctors as well as abortion problems.
One of the topical subject to be discussed is euthanasia and physician-assisted dying. The program also includes some issues on access of women and children to health care. Participants will discuss the role of women in the medical profession. The focus of attention will catch the topic of medical age assessment of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers.
Healthcare information for all and artificial or augmented intelligence in medical care will be also discussed. Special attention will be paid to the sibjects of an antimicrobial resistance, reduction of sodium intake in food and sugar consumption and sugar-sweetened beverages.
The event will conclude with a summary of the last meetings of the General Assembly in Reykjavik which take place on 3-6 October 2018.
