The event will take part at Reykjavík City Hall, Iceland, 3-6 October 2018. There will be one more event the WMA Medical Ethics Conference from 2-4 October in Harpa, Reykjavik Conference Centre which is right in the centre of the capital of Iceland.

Members of many national medical organisations included in the World Medical Parliament, as well as associate members of the WMA and one of them is Stepan Firstov were invited to take part at WMA Council. The international event will be held in English, French, Spanish and Japanese and providing simultaneous translation services.

The WMA Medical Ethics Conference supplementing the WMA General Assembly aims to discuss medical ethics issues received by the WMA for several years.

Yoshitake Yokokura, the President of the World Medical Association, the President of the Japan Medical Association says: «Based on the achievements of our predecessors, we must pursue the ethical issues more deeply and continue discussion to further improve the global assessment of the WMA. I hope that this conference will be a good opportunity for all the NMAs to review the ethical problems we face and reaffirm the most fundamental mission of the physicians.»

Reynir Arngrímsson, the President of the IcMA, Svandís Svavarsdóttir, Minister of Health, Yoshitake Yokokura, the President of WMA and other delegates will speak at the WMA Medical Ethics Conference opening ceremony.

There is presentation of Otmar Kloiber, Secretary General of WMA, on the topic of the history of WMA. There are some more topics to be discussed by the wide medical community, for example, ethical considerations in the medical care of psychiatric patients, palliative care, challenges in clinical genetics, data sharing and biobanks, health care of undocumented immigrants, person centered medicine, euthanasia and physician assisted suicide and many other relevant modern medicine ethics issues.

At the preliminary meeting of the 210th Council Session, 3 October, will be meetings of several committees: Socio-Medical Affairs Committee, Medical Ethics Committee, Finance and Planning Committee. 4 October at the General Assembly will be organized informal morning and evening WMA Associate Members Meeting. Among many representatives there will be Stepan Firstov. Main Meeting of the 210th Council Session and Assembly Ceremonial Session will be held on Friday, 5 October. 211th Council Session will be held next day.

In general, the WMA General Assembly and WMA Medical Ethics Conference agenda is full of events and meets the most stringent requirements of the world's medical community.
