At the heart of the coronavirus pandemic leaders of the public association uniting doctors from the South-East Europe (SEEMF) appeal to create a fund to support doctors and medical stuff from the South-East Europe in the fight against COVID-19. The initiative is supported by Russian representative, Board Member of the South-East European Medical Forum Stepan Firstov.

In times of crisis, the entire world confronts the challenge of the invisible enemy, which is coronavirus infection. At the forefront of this war are doctors treating patients caught the COVID-19. In a number of hospitals the most basic, but necessary medical supplies are in a great demand, for example, hygiene masks, protective clothing, disinfectants as well as medicines and etc. In this situation, the President and Board Members of the South-East European Medical Forum (SEEMF) call on everybody having opportunity to help and donate to the joint international donation campaign of WHO and Global Citizen to supply medical supplies to the healthcare facilities and medical stuff.

The charity event aimed to sustain doctors and medical stuff in the South-East Europe, working in the COVID-19 «Red Zone», attracts attention of many people. Personal donations are made by the President of SEEMF, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andrey Kehayov as well as SEEMF Board Members from more than 20 countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, North Macedonia, Israel, Slovenia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Croatia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Moldova, Montenegro, Ukrain and Uzbekistan. Contribution to this noble act is made by the SEEMF Board Member, Russian representative Stepan Firstov.

All donations are collected under the «SEEMF Solidarity Fund». The collected funds are aimed to be ensured to supply medicines to medical facilities confronting pandemic on the first line within country-members of SEEMF. Daily the information about donors, funds and its allocation is published on the SEEMF website: www.seemfcongress.com.
