The deputy of the committee on Social Policy of the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region Stepan Firstov criticized the work of the Ministry of Health after the report of the Minister of Health of the region Yuri Semenov. «I do not understand whether we are ready to fight the coronavirus and ready to provide all those in need with medicines. We have heard the minister's report, but medicines do not work without doctors,» commented the deputy.

This was reported by Znak.com.

According to the deputy Stepan Firstov, for the first nine months of 2020 in Chelyabinsk region the need for HCW has almost doubled. If by the end of 2019 there were not enough 1539 HCW, then nine months later this number increased to 2954 people.
«Today we heard the report of the Minister of Health on the provision of medicines, including patients with COVID-19. But medicines do not work without doctors. If we are nothing to do, thus, there will be nobody to treat people.» I propose to create a working group, that will search for solutions,» stressed Stepan Firstov.

«Heads of departments do not need to think that, if they make a long report and provide a lot of figures, they will thereby show their competence. You need to speak concisely and concretely. I do not understand today whether we are ready to fight the coronavirus or ready to provide all those in need with medicines,» summed up the speaker of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Myakush.

The head of the Ministry of Health, Yuri Semenov, replied that «we are almost ready». There are challenges with a number of medicines, but they are being solved.
