Stepan Firstov will participate in the 220th World Medical Association Council Session in Paris 2022

The World Medical Association has announced the 220th World Medical Association Council Session, which is going to be held in Paris, France 2022. Invitations are sent to all members of the WMA. Stepan Firstov is the Presidium Member of the Society of doctors of Russia as well as an WMA Associate Member and again will participate in the event and discussions.

220 WMA Council Session is planned for three days from 7 to 9 April 2022. This is the first event after Covid-19 pandemic, which is to be held in a hybrid format. The Chair of the Swedish Medical Association, dr. Heidi Stensmyren and now the President of the WMA, will be chair of the talks.

As a standard, after the Opening Ceremony a number of committee meetings are scheduled, for example, finance and planning committee, socio-medical affairs committee and medical ethics committee. The members of the Council will consider prepared documents in the field of telemedicine, sustainable development, chronic diseases, equal distribution of Covid-19 vaccines, health hazards of tobacco products, systemic approaches to patient safety, racism, discrimination, etc. Associate members are also asked to make amendments and comments to the WMA documents and present them to the Council Members. After the discussions participants will have Council Plenary Session and the Closing Ceremony.

There will be simultaneous interpretation in English, French, Spanish and Japanese.
