A delegation representing a brunch of Chelyabinsk region the Society of Doctors of Russia visits the 10th Anniversary International Medical Congress of the Southeast European Medical Forum (SEEMF).

The Congress is held in Sofia, which is the capital of Bulgaria. It turns to be a platform for effective dialogue, experience and knowledge exchange. The event is attended by Kiril Ananiev, the Minister of Health of Republic of Bulgaria and Leonid Eidelman, the President of the World Medical Association.

The discussions are held on the topics such as clinical and translational medicine, cardiovascular surgery, geriatrics, transplantations, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry. There are nephrology and urology, reproductive health, orthopedics and traumatology, calamity medicine and pharmacology. The Round Table «Challenges in the Healthcare systems — ХХI century: Values and principles» is a great success. The other topics related to the healthcare policy of country members of the South-East European Medical Forum cause a wide response. The Russian delegation attracts attention of all members of the Congress to the current for the whole medical community problem of deficit of doctors.

Stepan Firstov presents report revealing topic of professional associations of doctors. As an associate member of the World Medical Association he tells about an international experience of professional regulation, emphasizing:»I believe, that today it is the Society of Doctors of Russia (ОВР) implemented principles laid down by the pre-revolutionary «Society of Russian doctors» in the most consistently manner.

Traditionally, the most prominent participants and members of the medical research organizations are awarded at the SEEMF Congress. Thus, in 2018 the Medical Association of Belarus for its contribution to healthcare and social program development is awarded honorary with the sign of SEEMF.

At the Х Anniversary Congress of SEEMF for his contribution to healthcare development an associate member of the World Medical Association, chairman of the Society of Doctors of Russia, Stepan Firstov is awarded.
