Stepan Firstov will be a participant at the International Symposium on Vaccination. Taking current situation of rapid development of coronavirus infection, the problem of vaccination becomes more acute.

Initially, the symposium is scheduled for May 2020, but canceled due to well known reasons. This year event shifted to 1-2 July and will be held in the Vatican at the Casina Pio IV.

Issues devoted to history of vaccination for 18-21 centuries and achievements of modern medicine in the field of vaccination will be discussed in advance. Immunization is a driving force in the eradication of a number of deadly diseases. Never before nowadays the development of effective vaccination methods have been taken so siriously on the world arena. The pandemic exposed current challenges with vaccination from difficulties of vaccine doses distribution to unfounded skepticism and mistrust.

Tuesday to Friday in Vatican many leader experts in the field of immunization come together to highlight the importance of vaccination for the global health system, explore innovations, as well as access and, moreover, analyze methods to increase confidence in vaccines, while strengthening methods of criticism that deny scientific evidence. The main objective is to inform the world about the necessity and safety of the vaccination vital potential.

The event is going to be in cooperation with the World Medical Association (WMA), German Medical Association (GMA), the Pontifical Academy for Life (PAL) and the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (PAS).
