26 March 2021 an online press-conference was held in the Interfax news agency (Moscow) on signing an agreement on cooperation between the Party of Pensioners and the Society of doctors of Russia. The press-conference was attended by the Chair of the Central Council of the Party of Pensioners Vladimir Burakov, the President of the All-Russian public organization Society of doctors of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Oleg Yanushevich and the Secretary of the Central Council of the Party of Pensioners on Health issues, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region Stepan Firstov.

First and foremost, the goal of this agreement was to prepare legislative initiatives aimed to change attitude to medicine and health of citizens. The union of the political force of the Party of Pensioners and the professional medical community of the Society of doctors of Russia will contribute to consistent qualitative changes in the Health care system and creation of optimal conditions for its successful and effective functioning.

At the press-conference political and medical issues were discussed. In his speech at the press-conference Vladimir Burakov noted, that for the Party of Pensioners representing interests of the older generation, the medical care of high quality was always a priority. In this regard, the most important provisions in the political work of the Party were restoration of sufficient budget funding for the Health care system, revision of provisions and legal documents regulating work of physicians and Health care system in general as well as development of new strategy of providing medical care to elderly people by organizing specialized geriatric centers. In turn, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region Stepan Firstov being both the Council Chair of the regional branch of Society of doctors of Russia in Chelyabinsk region and the Chair of Chelyabinsk branch of Party of Pensioners, shared first results of his socio-political activity in the regional Parliament. For a short time period (since September 2020) problems, that were not accepted to speak up, have been identified and detailed such as shortage of medical personnel in the context of specialists, salaries of doctors and medical staff, conditions of material and technical base of clinics in remoted areas. «We as the Party of Pensioners are against averaged figures. We are to talk to people at their environment conditions, we are ready to meaningful overcome each and every challenge and give it the right way.» stated Stepan Firstov.

The President of the Society of doctors of Russia Oleg Yanushevich confirmed the need to create conditions for maintaining importance and revelance of medical profession and highlighted functioning of the Health care system during pandemic, devoting special attention to doctors, their forceful and moral qualities for successful fight of Russia against coronavirus infection reached for now and including three types of vaccines, mass vaccination of population of the country and lockdown absence, etc.

«Those measures, that had been taken in our country, I suppose, they were indicative, and doctors, who have been fighting the pandemic, deserve the highest tittle of heroes!» convinced Oleg Yanushevich.

All participants of the press-conference have come to agreed conclusion, that joint activity of the Party of Pensioners with the Society of doctors of Russia, with no doubt, will bring positive impact on strengthening of social foundations of russian society.
