Private medicine of Chelyabinsk region and its role in the Health care system of the region.
7 April the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region took a round table discussion on the private medicine of Chelyabinsk region and its role in the Health care system of the region. The event was organized under the initiative of the Party of Pensioners faction in the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region with participation of the association of medical organizations «Novomed» and regional branch of the All-Russian public organization Society of doctors of Russia in Chelyabinsk region.
The round table provided seats for deputies and representatives of a private medical sector. It offered an open dialogue opportunity to tell about activity of medical centers, share achievements and successes, discuss difficulties and challenges. The discussion was started with the speech of the Board Chairman of the association of medical organizations "Novomed" Maxim Smagin. On behalf of association members he summed up the results of 2020 pandemic year and noted, that the private Health care sector gave a good support to the whole.
Health care system during pandemic taking on an increased flow of narrow classified patients. The invited speakers also confirmed the importance of private medicine in the Health care system of the region. Thus, Deputy Director of an Independent Laboratory of «Progressive Medical Technologies» Tatiana Veretennikova gave a statistics on the laboratory functioning during the pandemic for the period from April to December 2020 more than 30 000 studies were performed to identify the coronavirus using polymerase chain reaction method. Since May 2020 in the clinical and diagnostic laboratory researches have been conducted to identify antibodies resistance to coronavirus infection. From May to December 85 000 studies have been conducted.
A study of no less importance in the diagnosis of coronavirus infection was computed tomography diagnostic of the chest. Director of the medical center «Carmel» Natalia Orlova said, that for the period of 2020, 3454 patients requested a doctor in this medical center. In comparison with 2019, an increased percentage of patients turned to be 1395%.
Deputy of a chief doctor of a medical rehabilition center «Klinika Vsya Medicina» shared his experience of the first temporary accommodation facility (observatory) in the region based on the rehabilitation center «Klinika Vsya Medicina», which took in 353 patients form April to June 2020. The observatory period of each patient took 14 days.
General Director Deputy of the medical clinic «FMC» Olga Dobrokhotova shared her experience of providing medical care to patients with traumatological and orthopedic pathology in the medical clinic «FMC» during pandemic. She noted, that traumatology was one of the medical branches, which could not stop its activity despite the epidemic danger.
All participants of the round table agreed on the need to bring together and improve interaction between state and private medical sectors considering, that the private Health care sector along with the state and municipal ones has equal activity rights on the legislative level in the field of health protection of citizens in Chelyabinsk region.
Commenting results of the round table discussion, the leader of the Party of Pensioners faction Stepan Firstov in the regional Parliament informed: «Our faction is going to hold the same events regularly, consequently, we suppose necessity to attract attention of the state authorities to the issues of functioning as well as development of the private medicine. The past year and the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection reveal number of challenges in the Health. And the private medicine proves in practice its importance and integration into the public Health care system. Private and public medicine can not exist separately and the health of citizens of Chelyabinsk region depends on its functioning and interaction both in pandemic as well as peacful times. Therefore, today the participants of the round table decide to apply to the Ministry of Health of Chelyabinsk region with proposal to include representatives of professional non-profit organizations and associations of private medical organizations in a form of associations or unions to the Board of the Ministry of Health of the region. This suggestion as well as initiatives and suggestions mentioned by the participants during the round table will be added to the resolution of the round table. After that, the resolution will be sent to the Government and the Ministry of Health of Chelyabinsk region.»
